I have not been there myself,but if you don't hear from any collectors yhat have you might find some info at the following sites:
Louisiana Geo. Survey-http://www.dnr.state.la.us/min/geosur.htm

Arkansas Geological Commission-http://www.state.ar.us/agc/agc.htm

Also, the USGS http://www.usgs.gov has some publications on the paleo of these states-go to http://greenwood.cr.usgs.gov/bulletin.html and enter the state names for a list.

Hope this helps & good luck in your collecting--since these states don't seem to be studied much since the early 1900s anything you find should be interesting.
