All the websites are very good and quite accurate;but
the epitome of fossiling experience was hunting the
Burgess Shale at Walcott and Raymond Quarries for two
months in 1997. I almost found one of everything.

This could only be done while on a research permit from
Parks Canada. The scenery is phenominal, the work is
rigorous, the accomodations and amenities are non- existant and the fossils are as exhilarating as the air.

Let's not forget the ROM curates probably the largest
repository of Burgess Shale fossils. Check it out. I'm
to understand that they also are to have a very large display of these remarkable fossils.

There are species being taken out for study that have
yet to be discribed. I still find myself metally drifting back there and re-experiencing it. I don't
think one could get tired of finding the exquisite fossils or the nature all around.
