| HAVE FOSSILS FOR TRADING?: Online Fossil Trade Show opened on March 8, 2004. Trade fossils with fellow collectors! | |||||||
This fossil was found in or near the bed of a seasonal creek, 4 miles west of Copperopolis. The rock in the area are the "Tombstone" slates. Above the site area itself though is a high ridge, and is contains red sedimentary rock. The seasonal stream comes from this direction. Going out on a limb, my guess would be a rugose coral...which would put it back in time before the early Triassic. Would very much appreciate an i.d.!
