Some info on your fossil: From: Jacob Steven Benner Peter, A colleague of mine, Dr. Gibert, seems to have the opinion that the mystery specimen is a rudist --which is a reef-building mollusk from the Mesozoic. I hope this helps. --------------------- Another one, that does not agree... --------------------- Mike Everhart Jacob, It's difficult to tell from the picture, but it doesn't look like the rudists (Durania maxima) from the Late Cretaceous Smoky Hill Chalk (Coniacian).
