Trade Show Forum Trade Show Lobby Collecting Fossils in California

Offered Wanted
PLATE WITH MULTIPLE SPECIES
Bivalves and gastropods
Pliocene
Purisima Formation
Capitola, California
This plate could be further prepared to better expose the specimens or to probably expose more species. I have identified at least 6: Lewis Moon Snail (Polinices lewissi) x3, Surf Clam (Spisula coosensis)-many, Nassa snail (Nassarius californianus) x3, California soft shell (Cryptomya californica) x1, Little neck clam (Protothaca staleyi)(?) x1 and Ark clam (Anadara trileniata)(?) x1.
BACK VIEW
This is the weathered side and consists mostly of inner shell imprints and fragments. As you can see the plate as it is stands up nicely over one side.
CLOSE UP VIEW
At the left is a clam with a distinctive feeding hole, probably drilled during lunch by the large carnivorous Lewis Moon Snail (one is shown badly burrowed to the right).
CLOSE UP VIEW
At the mid left is a large Lewis Moon Snail with its shell partially eroded away and another one at the top right that appears to be complete but only partially exposed.
Looking for a good quality Dendraster gibbsii sand dollar from the same locality (not from Kettleman Hills, sorry). Willing to trade this plate for just one specimen in good condition.
