Manchurochylus Early cretaceous lingyuan,liaoning,China Some 100 million years ago, the area in today's western Liaoning Province was abundant in fauna and flora. Later, because of frequent volcanic eruptions, the remnants and traces of the area's organisms were embedded and preserved in the volcanic ash, and eventually became fossils. In the 1990s, Chinese paleontologists discovered in western Liaoning thousands of well-preserved fossils of birds of the Mesozoic Era, numerous fossils of hairy dinosaurs, and countless fossils of primitive vertebrates and invertebrates, including land beasts, Pterosaurs, amphibians, fish, as well as saurian and terrapins. |
Psittacosaurus cretaceous lingyuan,liaoning,China Cretaceous Psittacosaurus is a kind of smaller dinosaur,walking with 2 legs,head is short and wide.The name form their mouth looks like parrot.Cheekbone is high and pop out.They lived in early Cretaceous.The scientists think they are most Protoceratops' ancestor because of their period and shape.This one on auction is a beautiful one ,the all bones come from the same specimen.There are many calculus in its stomach,and lost seceral ribs(look at the photoes above) |
This fossil comes from Mongolia.Its skull looks like bird,clear teeth.Its framework also looks like bird and the proportion is different from Psittacosaurus and so on.Claws like bird's,the front claws are very nipping,the back ones are very slightness.The acantha is thin and long,it maybe belongs to troodntid,unnamed until today.As far as know there are two ones in China,the another one is in HongKong.It has much value on investigation,very very rare.If some friends know this kind of dinosaur,please contact me via email,thanks. |
Jeholosaurus early cretaceous Shangyuan,liaoning,China Diagnosis:Enlarged laterodorsal nasal foramina; quadratojugal fenestra more than 25% maximum quadratojugal length; quadratojugal less than 30% of skull height; predentary almost 150% of premaxillary body length; dentary extends posteriorly almost to posterior border of angular; metatarsal III placed more anteriorly than other metatarsals. |
