Graptolite
Orthograptus Middle Ordovician Through Lower Silurian Black Shale New England Found in a small gravel quarry near the White Mountains of New Hampshire, an area not usually renowned for fossils, because of the unique geological features of this area, primarily from a now extinct volcano that has left small areas of very old mantle exposed to glacial activity, I have discovered pockets of very old shale aggregate stone varying in size from 3/4' up to 8". This material is very dense with many species of Graptolites |
