Yes, indeed... this is the tibiotarsus of a turkey or other galliforme bird... i.e. the chicken family. The sticky out part is the spur, which I think is only found on males,a nd is the part the rosster fighting types really like... speaking of sick sports.... jpc : : I found this bone along the banks of the illinois river in peoria illinois. It looks like some kind of leg bone to me with a spur coming out of it. I am completely stumped. Pleistocene??? : To me it looks like a leg bone of a gallinaceous bird (turkeys and their kin). It is an interesting specimen.
